This weekend Lynz came down to visit our new home in Norman; it was great to have company! We picked her up in OKC Friday night, cooked dinner back at the house and stayed up 'till the wee hours laughing and talking.
Saturday we got up and started getting ready for the OU/Utah game. It was beautiful- partly sunny with a nice breeze.
Here is our family picture- everyone showing a little school pride!
Lynz and Tif at the game...
Chris and Tif...
Of course, OU stomped Utah into the ground, so it wasn't much of a game, but it was still fun to see!
Because parking is definitely and issue on game day, we decided to park at the law school and walk- thanks to the wonderful parking pass that Tif's dad bought Chris for the school year- woo hoo.
We decided to take Lynz around the law school so that she could see his humble studying quarters. Here we are having too much fun in the elevator...
We had a great weekend! Thanks for coming down, Lynz!
And finally- here are the two children, after the long weekend!

Painting....
Here are a few pictures to share.... Our bedroom, before the furniture...
Tif went back over the flat paint with a gloss in a stripe pattern.....here you can see the idea. It is the same color just with a clear gloss over the top.
This is the office...
Here is the kitchen/dining room. The entryway is a dark terracotta orange/red color. The living room walls are a pale yellow with a darker yellow/gold glaze rolled on and wiped off (It is a technique called mottling)

Another perk to being a Pirtle...
we found the Pirtle Winery in Weston, Missouri!
We vowed that we would visit the winery before we left Kansas, so in the middle of our crazy fury to pack our house to move to Norman, we were sure to block off a morning to make the hour trip to Weston.
Here are some of the wines that we tasted. The blackberry was Tif's favorite and the Chambourcin was Chris's.
I know, I know we are uber cheesy...but we couldn't resist! This is our last picture in Topeka.
We are so excited about moving to Norman, but at the same time, we have so many great memories and friends that we are leaving behind in Topeka. Thanks to all of our friends and family that helped us get settled at Washburn- we will miss you all so much!
