Pass the Peas Please...

This week I made sweet peas for Eli. I was pretty proud of myself for trying them even though I don't care for peas- they really weren't that bad.

Turns our that Eli doesn't care for them...at all. Who knew that feeding the little guy peas would equal pure torture in his little mind.

Here is a picture of the optimistic start.

It just snowballs from there...

I believe this is the point where he started crying...hysterically.

We had peas everywhere!

He was very happy when we took the peas away...

So, we will be giving the peas to cousin Emma- maybe she will like them a little more. Yesterday I made pears for him and he LOVED them for breakfast this morning!
So please pass the peas away from Eli.

Moving!

We are happy to say that we made it back to Texas!

While it is a bitter-sweet move for us, we know that there are many, many reasons why we need to be back home for this next chapter of our lives.

It is crazy to look back on the last three years; it was all such a whirlwind. We have made so many friends in so many places and experienced so much! We wouldn't trade the "law school years" for anything.

Thank you to our family and friends for their love and support during this chapter of our lives.

Here we are with the moving truck...we are especially proud of that little bundle that we picked up along the way!

Here was our last picture in Topeka...

We are just as cheesy today...

The best $3.00 we have ever spent...

Here is Eli enjoying his Memamaw's latest garage sale find...
She just bought a jumper for her house and then came across this one at a garage sale. I told her to go ahead and get it and we would see if Eli liked it.

Let's just say that it was a good investment...

Eli is just so amazing! He loves his new toy!
Speaking of "new" things, here is our new dinning room table! We found it on Craig's List for a steal! It has an antiqued finish and will be perfect for our dining room!

Have a great weekend!

First Trip to the Zoo...

After a mad trip to Texas to paint before the big move, we headed back yesterday. Besides coming home for important reasons like meeting the realtor and scheduling a U-Haul, we also came home for "Way-Back Wednesday"! This translates to $.75 admission to the OKC Zoo! We decided to pack up this morning and head to the Zoo for a day of relaxing before the craziness of the move ensues.

Here is Eli ready to see all of the animals...do you like his hat? It is for our trip to Hawaii in December!

Eli's favorite were the giraffes...

Can we say "reticulated", Eli? Amazing the things you pick up in law school...

Look at this little guy! He was a complete joy at the Zoo! It was stinkin' hot, but he was a hoot!

After a hot day at the Zoo we took a quick bath to cool off!

While E and daddy were playing, I worked on my second batch of baby food. This week is butternut squash. Like the acorn squash last week, it passed my taste test...hopefully it will pass Eli's taste test too!

Family reunion

The Sunday after the rodeo was our Britten family reunion...talk about a full weekend!

I love Emma's face in this picture!

What better form of entertainment than 2 babies...

Cort, me and Stef...

All of the cousins...well, the ladies at least.

Kaci and Stef...

Halle, Eli and Lanie...

The younguns...I just have to say that Eli has great cousins. They were all so good with him!

Matt and Lanie...

Allie-gator...

Are we having fun yet???

The great-grandkids...

Almost everyone from our side of the clan...

This is probably my favorite picture of my dad...ever. I don't know who had the guts to tell the waiter that it was his birthday, but God help their souls if he ever finds out. He hates to be a part of stuff like that! It was sheer awesomeness.

Thursday I flew into Dallas to pick up Chris and drive him back home. I didn't think that letting him drive for 5 hours after a 3 day test would be the best idea. We were so excited to see each other; I hardly recognized him when I got off the plane because he was smiling so big! After a great night's sleep sans Baby E, we headed to IKEA (awesome!) and then back home. It was so nice to spend time alone together!

Finally! Daddy arrived home! Eli was so excited to see his daddy that he cried...or maybe he was a little scared. Pretty soon he remembered his daddy and was happy again!

We should be officially caught up with pictures! YAY! If you are in the family, all of the pictures from the weekend are up in the private family section of Chris's photography blog. They are many more and they are bigger and better quality there, so if you want any prints go there to copy them. I try to only post a few, lower-quality pics on the blog so be sure to check all of them out on the website!

White Deer Rodeo

There are few things I love more than July in White Deer. Between shoot-'em-yourself fireworks and the rodeo, it just doesn't get much more home-town than this.
Sadly, since Chris was taking the Bar the next week he stayed in Norman while Eli, the puppies and I traveled to Texas for a fun-filled weekend.

In true rodeo spirit we had to find a cowboy hat...

Seriously, could he get any cuter? Man, Chris better hope that our next child isn't any cuter or I will never want to stop having babies...

I wanted Eli to have a cute shirt to wear so I made this one for him. I saw one like it online for a ridiculous amount of money, so I just went to Hobby Lobby and bought a few pieces of felt and some thread.

It was a beautiful day...Eli was so charming and happy.

Eli and momma...

Here is the awesome Wrangler diaper cover that we got from Aaron and Beth- It was perfect for the rodeo!

Eli loved all of the attention. Here he is with Abby, Lori and Matt.

Aunt Cortney and Eli. We are so happy that they came down from Kansas this year! It was so great to see their crew!

Eli and Aunt Lynda...despite appearances, she is not teaching about our German heritage.
