Painting....

While Chris has been studying his tail off at school, Tif has been painting the house. She painted the hallway, office, bedroom laundry room, kitchen and living room. While it has been a lot of work, it is definitely beginning to feel a lot more like home.

Here are a few pictures to share.... Our bedroom, before the furniture...

Tif went back over the flat paint with a gloss in a stripe pattern.....here you can see the idea. It is the same color just with a clear gloss over the top.

This is the office...

Here is the kitchen/dining room. The entryway is a dark terracotta orange/red color. The living room walls are a pale yellow with a darker yellow/gold glaze rolled on and wiped off (It is a technique called mottling)

Above the kitchen cabinets is a red grenadine color. We put all of our honeymoon black and whites from Rome on top of the cabinets.

Just a quick update- we still have half of a garage full of boxes, so we will post more pictures as we put everything in its place.

Another perk to being a Pirtle...

we found the Pirtle Winery in Weston, Missouri!
We vowed that we would visit the winery before we left Kansas, so in the middle of our crazy fury to pack our house to move to Norman, we were sure to block off a morning to make the hour trip to Weston.

Here are some of the wines that we tasted. The blackberry was Tif's favorite and the Chambourcin was Chris's.

I know, I know we are uber cheesy...but we couldn't resist! This is our last picture in Topeka.

We are so excited about moving to Norman, but at the same time, we have so many great memories and friends that we are leaving behind in Topeka. Thanks to all of our friends and family that helped us get settled at Washburn- we will miss you all so much!

It is official- we bought the t-shirts!

If you haven't already heard, Chris was accepted as a transfer student to OU law.

OU has a great law school and we are very excited about moving to Norman!

We got in touch with a realtor, found our new house and wrote a contract on it in just two days. Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers- this was a huge decision, and we knew that God would provide for us and that everything would fall into place, and so far it has.

Our new home... It is about 2 miles away from the stadium!

Please continue to pray for us as we start the process of moving, as Chris starts school, and Tif looks for a new job.

Rodeo!

One highlight of every summer is the White Deer Rodeo; not that we care that much for the rodeo, but that we get to spend time with our family living in Kansas! They have made it a habit to come down every year. We had a blast this year, and it was great to see everyone!

here are just a few pics...

New Mexico

For our mini vacation this year we decided to head over to Albuquerque to visit Brandon and help him out around his new house. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

This is Brandon's new house! It is really awesome and it has an amazing view.

The view...

San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town

St. Francis Cathedral. It was build by French archbishop Jean-Baptiste Lamy in 1869.

The oldest church in America... San Miguel chapel built in 1680 and was rebuilt in 1710.

Loretto Chapel, built in 1873

Escalera Famos-The staircase seems to stand with no support. The legend is that a carpenter appeared and built this staircase in the chapel and left without even waiting for payment for his services.
