"A Moose, With Horns"

This is why I RARELY answer the phone in the afternoon.


Last week I got a phone call from a wedding client and decided to take the risk and answer the phone.


In the mere minutes I was in the other room, this happened.





I don't even know where he got the marker. I must say though, it is a struggle for me to change Ileigh's diaper most days, so the fact that he managed to mark all over her face as well is impressive.

Daddy Eli...

We got back into town last night from a quick Spring Break trip to Dallas. We got to spend some time with Heather while she is in Fort Worth for her internship and see her hospital and where she is staying. We also got to see Tom and Monica and their two adorable little girls. Those pictures are on Chris' phone, so I will save the details for another post.

On our way down to Dallas we saw the most colorful fields EVER. Chris and I just stopped everything and gasp when we say them. I announced that on our way home we HAD to get pictures of the kiddos there. Since Eli hasn't had to be the victim of our photography for a while, it was decided that he was up.

Isn't he just the most handsome thing? I think so.

Today, right before naps, he wanted to put Ileigh's doll down for a nap.

I told him that he was going to be a great daddy someday and he just beamed! It was adorable. He took the doll to his daddy to show him and then daddy helped him wrap her and put her back in the swing. 

Eli has a great daddy to show him how to be a great daddy. :)

Ileigh Grace- 13 months

Oh, little Ileigh. :)

You are 13 months!

We finally got around to taking pictures of you in your charming little birthday dress that you didn't get to wear.

Let's just pretend that she was acting like a pretty little ballerina, instead of ripping the bow out of her hair for the millionth time, okay? :)

Your favorite thing to do at the moment is play chase. I love to watch the way you beam and laugh when Eli chases you. You love to give kisses and the puppy dogs are the lucky recipients of most of them at the moment.

You didn't add any new words to your vocabulary this month, but you know what you want and you know how to let us know you want it. 

Your favorite foods are yogurt and spaghetti- you never turn them down. 

You are still taking 3 naps a day- thankyouLord.

When those 3 naps don't happen or get cut short, you ironically have a horrible night. 

You have yet to sleep through the night (sigh); it is a darn good thing you are so cute. :)

And that you have such a good daddy who will get up with you...that too. 

Can I just tell you how much I love this picture?!? She is like, "Are we being serious, mom? Really, more pictures?" HAHA!

When did he get so big?

I can't wait to see him fly.

I cannot get enough of this kid.

We are agonizing over preschool choices at the moment.

Totally nerve-racking and totally shouldn't be. Both at the same time.

I guess I just don't want to be the reason his wings are stuck.

The One, The Only...

It's that time of year again...Tif's birthday!  This year has been especially amazing.  I mean, why wouldn't it be?  We got to spend another year with our wonderful wife/mommy!!!  So Tiffany (aka mommy aka Tifalicious aka Tiffy Bear aka beauTIFul aka, wait, you sure do have a lot of aka's), we celebrate you!

You will never know the joy you bring me when I get to sit and watch you interact with our kids.  You are truly an incredible mother and Eli and Ileigh are more blessed than they will ever know.  Your awesomeness with our kiddos is overflowing, and you are a pretty amazing wife, too!  My heart melts when I watch you.  My heart skips a beat when I'm with you.  Sometimes I see God looking down on me and the kids and see him smiling.  He's thinking, "I did that."  But then he leans down and tells me "I did that...I did that for you.  I did that for Eli.  I did that for Ileigh."  You represent each day the wife and mother that God designed and intended, and you are a light to us, you are our city on a hill.

Happy Birthday to our most awesomest wife and mommy!  Happy Birthday, Tif!!!
