Today, Chris and I decided to give up our morning to help our University.
The ice storm last December was the worst ice storm in Oklahoma history. While the OU Landscape and Physical Plant staff continue to address major debris clean-up, the help of the students was needed to rake, pile and bag small twig and leaf debris that still litter the campus. The clean-up efforts are necessary before the more than 1,000 trees lost to the ice storm can be replaced. Preliminary estimates indicate that it will require $1.7 million to clean up, prune existing trees, remove severely damaged tree and purchase and plant new ones.
Here are just a few pics from this morning...
Luckily, in the registration line we ran into Darcy, one of the first people that Tif met in her classes. She is super wonderful and her emphasis is in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration in Adult and Higher Education.
