Today marks the 100 day count down until our baby boy makes his public debut!
Can you believe it?
It seems like it was just yesterday that we found out that we were expecting, and now we are signing up for parenting classes and registering.
I have to say that being able to carry this baby is one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had in my life; I feel so blessed to be able to have this experience. I am trying really hard to not stress and instead treasure everything that is going on in our lives at the moment. Have you heard the song by Sanctus Real, Whatever You're Doing? Chris and I have pretty much declared this our theme for the semester...sometimes it is amazing that God will send you a song that explains everything that you are feeling at that moment.
Here are some of the lyrics:
Whatever You're doing inside of me. It feels like chaos but somehow there's peace. It's hard to surrender to what I can't see, but I'm giving in to something Heavenly.
Time for a milestone. Time to begin again. Reevaluate who I really am. Am I doing everything to follow Your will, Or just climbing aimlessly over these hills? So show me what it is You want from me, I give everything, I surrender...
Things here are pretty crazy these days. Chris and I are getting back into the swing of school; back into the late night and weekend study and homework routine. I have officially put in my application to graduate and take the big comprehensive exam in May, and Chris will be starting the application process for registering for the bar soon.
I am preparing for all of our October breast health awareness month activities at work, and Chris just started his new job this week. He works here in the OMU with me in the office of Student Affairs. He works with other law students reviewing student group constitution and bylaws, making sure that they are in line with university policy, and also mediates meetings between professors and students accused of plagiarism or cheating. So far, everything is going great and he is enjoying it.
As far as our breast health activities go, the Women's Outreach Center's team, Walk with the WOC has raised almost $1,000 for Komen. We have 28 team members! I am so excited and I think that the day will be a ton of fun!
We are still in the middle of getting things resolved from our wreck a month ago, and we are still both seeing a chiropractor. Hopefully, all of the issues will be resolved as soon and as painlessly (figuratively and literally speaking) as possible.
Tuesday was my dad's annual PET scan to check to see if his lymphoma has come back. Everything in the scan looked fine, except for a red spot on his left chest. He had a mammogram done and the results of the test were inconclusive. He will be going to have a sonogram done in two weeks. Please keep him in your prayers. We are trusting that God is working in the situation and that everything will be okay.
In happier news, we are happy to announce that Brad (Tif's twin brother) and his wife, Alison are expecting a baby girl on Feb. 16th. I was totally hoping for a girl because I think that it is neat that Brad and I are twins, I am expecting a boy and he is expecting a girl just a little over a month a part. The timing is perfect because I am a minute older! Pretty crazy!
We wish them a happy and safe pregnancy!
