We started off our day by packing, driving about an hour and a half to the airport and turning in rental cars. I really love the Kona airport on the Big Island. It is totally open-air. Crazy.
Here is a photo of our carry-on luggage.
Getting through security and on the plane with all this stuff and two toddlers was the hardest part of the whole trip.
We were super excited that aunt Steffy joined us on our flight from Kona to Honolulu to Kauai! The kiddos love her! But, we were sad that she had to leave to go back home once we got to Kauai- Glad Charlie is okay, though!
Oh, Kauai...when can we meet again? I dream about you...
Sometimes I have to stop myself from checking Hawaiian Airlines every week for their specials. It just isn't going to happen anytime soon.
But, if it were, Kauai would be our first stop.
When we got to our condo, we had a little down time so Chris played with his new camera lens and got some photos of our new little friend...
Next we went to Lilihuli Gardens and Preserve...
It was amazing. Just amazing. Such beauty...
Family Pic!!!
Little cuties!
Ileigh was tired and hot...
But she will always smile for Megan!
After our hike around the gardens we stopped in Hanalei for some Bubba Burgers- teryaki, yumm-o-,
and of course, shaved ice with macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom.
We headed back to the condo-about a 30min drive- and rested for a few hours.
Then the kiddos, Megan, Memamaw, Gramps, Aunt Kaci and Uncle Jason went to play some put-put.
I had to stay at the condo and get some photo work done. Even though it was a bummer to miss the fun they had, it was nice for some alone time too!
The sun sets really early there, so it was dark when they got home before dinner. They came by, picked me up and we all went to eat at a little steakhouse in Princeville- the town where we were staying.
