Our next day in Kauai, we decided to spend the day on the beach.
We drove around the island until the dead-end at Ke'e beach. When we got there, we had the whole beach to ourselves! Seriously, our kiddos were up ridiculously early every morning, so we were usually the first among the few wherever we went.
This was our pile of stuff- look at those tree roots! An there were chickens everywhere back there....just imagine roosters crowing and the waves hitting the beach- you are in Kauai.
It was straight up amazing.
Here's our little fish- he loves the water- especially the ocean.
So thankful for little footprints...
Megan and Ileigh playing in the sand.
Can you just imagine getting to stare at that backdrop every day?
He was in heaven.
I know I say it a lot, but I'm so thankful Megan came with us!
Eli & Ileigh's favorite game was to race from the top of the beach to the water and jump in. It really is about the simple things.
Again- it was so clear and like glass!
It started to rain on us. So awesome to be in the ocean and feel the rain- it was amazing to watch it falling into the ocean.
We climbed into the car and drove back up the road to Haena beach- and ran into Kaci and Jason! We hung out with them for a bit and then went home for naps.
When the kiddos got up we headed to Kilauea see the light house, built in 1912.
The kiddos were more interested in the cliff than the light house.
(side note: I have no idea where that turtle is, we had to have left it somewhere in Hawaii. Ugh)
This was my favorite bridge. I know it sounds weird, but the trees were huge and just seemed to fan the entire length of the curved road.
Another beautiful sunset in Princeville.
For dinner we drove into Hanalei. We stopped at Kalipso's on a random whim. It was awesome- everyone loved their food!
