Baby boy,
You are a gift. You have been my gift every day for the last 730 days. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined having a little boy as priceless as you. One of the things I love most about being your mommy is your smile; your smile can turn my day around. Your laugh can pierce through any ounce of mundane drudgery that comes from the day-to-day routine. Your daddy and I love you so, so much. Every day we have a story to tell one another about something that you did. You bring us so much joy, love and laughter.
You are flat out amazing. You are a quick learner, kind-hearted and filled with all kinds of wonder. It is neat to watch the wheels turning in your head as you work to figure out the world around you. I am cherishing these last few days we have together without your baby sister here. I am sad to let these days of just the two of us go, but I know that you will be a wonderful big brother.
Every night I stand over your bed and pray that God will give you a passion and a purpose early in life and that you will be a devout follower of Him. I pray that you will have good, supportive friends and a wonderful wife one day. Then, I pray that God will help your daddy and I be the best parents we can be as we lead you down the path He has chosen for you. I am so excited to see what the future holds for you.
I love you around the world and back; I am so proud of you and thank God for the opportunity to be your mommy every day. Thank you for being you.
Some little things I love and don’t want to forget:
-I love when you ask to “hold mommy’s hand” and ask me to “sing Eli’s song” when you lay down for naps and bed.
-I love that you know every word to “Jesus Loves Me”; I love to hear you sing.
-I love to see the huge smile on your face when you “get daddy”.
-I love your laugh; best sound in the world.
-I love how you look for the moon every time we go outside.
-I love how infatuated you are with your Grandpaw and his “John Deere Tractors”
-I love how happy you are to see me when you wake up from your afternoon nap. You will call out “MOMM-Y, MOMM-Y!” and have the biggest grin on your face when I peek through the door to see you. It is like you can’t wait to see what we are going to do next.
If you could just do me one favor- Please stop growing up so fast...I know one day I will look up and you will be all grown-up and gone.
All my love,
Mommy
